Franklin Harrison Gassaway, Poet
Oakland, Cal., May 22.—Franklin Harrison Gassaway, widely known as a poet and newspaper man, died at his home here [Oakland] last night from a heart attack. He left a wife and a brother, Colonel James M. Gassaway, Cairo, Ill.
For the last thirty-three years Mr. Gassaway had been connected with the San Francisco Examiner. He was born in Maryland. He came to San Francisco from Washington, D. C., in 1880, as a special representative of the United States Mint.
